These firms are quite successful however they do not have access to the larger client market due to the obstacles of:

• critical mass, and
• a core, cross-specialisation technical department on call.

Notwithstanding, such firms are quite content in that they have found a value proposition in remaining small and medium as this fosters:

• freedom,
• practical advice, as these individuals are entrepreneurs and business owners,
• the personal touch,
• cost control and profitability,
• direct staff nurturing, supervision and
• agility and multi-skilling of teams.

For these reasons such firms may not intend to grow beyond the small and medium definitions.

How then to we bring these quality people and their staff to the larger corporates for all to benefit? Enter THAWT….our virtual practice. Small and medium firms remain in their existing corporate forms. Those that choose to join THAWT, join along with their staff as individuals. THAWT is a collaboration between like-minded individuals that operate within their specific skill sets and personal life choices. Some associates prefer to only be involved in delivery and project management. These are our Level 1 Associates. Level 2 associates are also involved in client marketing. Level 3 associates have the additional role of internal operations of the practice.

The core of THAWT’s delivery team is small and medium practitioners and their staff who, by themselves, are quite successful.

The intention is to offer a cost-effective, sustainable, independent, ethical, crowd consulting solution to clients by leveraging on our small and medium firm long-term relationships which may facilitate the sustainability of such a virtual practice. Our friendships with each other are deep and based on similar value systems and approaches to our existing client bases. We are unique in that we intend adopting the following principles:

1. We are not budget-driven as we reside in successful practices. We are here to serve our new clients and charge a reasonable fee arrived at via recognised RFQ processes.
   
   
2. We do not seek to develop long term relationships as this intention leads to complexities.
   
   
3. Quotes are automated via our portal and we will allocate work to capable consultants to deliver. Personal relationships with clients are not part of the THAWT DNA. Our professional relationships will be based on quality, delivery, price and sustainability.
   
   
4. We aim to be transparent on our tendering pricing and organisation incomes, where possible.
